Minerals play a very key role in our health. The depletion of the essential minerals in our soils has been discussed and have been known for years. Senate Document 264 titled Anemic Earth, was submitted to the US Senate in 1936 by Rex Beach as part of a Congressional investigation into farming practices. The document discussed Dr. Charles Northen's research on the mineral depletion of American soil and its impact on human health.
Then in 1992 Earth Summit reported that soil mineral depletion was a major concern, with North America experiencing the highest depletion at 85%:
Report findings:
The report noted that mineral levels had declined dramatically over the previous 100 years, with Europe experiencing a 72% decline, Asia a 76% decline, and North America an 85% decline.
Impact on health:
The report highlighted that trace minerals are important for human health and function, including warding off disease, proper organ function, and fighting cancer-causing free radicals.
Causes of depletion:
The report noted that the diet has changed dramatically since the 1940s, with more processed food and less natural, whole food.
As you can see that minerals play a very key role in our health. The depletion of minerals in our soils has been discussed for years. If our soils are lacking the essential minerals then so are the foods we eat. If you think you can get all of your nutrition from the foods that you eat, someone didn't see this video.
